Christmas is a very important day for Christians, commemorating the birth of Jesus. But for those who do not believe in Jesus also celebrate because they celebrate the legend of Father Christmas also called Sta. Clous, for others his name is saint Nicolas. The Father Christmas has different names depending on the place but all agree that Christmas is to give love, affection and gifts.
In Chile many people go to church for Christmas, others just celebrate with their family and some go to visit friends and relatives. At Christmas parents often are give gifts to their children saying it is the Father Christmas, so that toy stores and trade are filled. A day before Christmas some family gather to eat together on Christmas Eve and wait to 12 o'clock to open the gifts.
On Christmas Day children go out to enjoy and play with the toys that father christmas gave them, the streets are filled with joy and the houses to, because for Christmas at home is put the Christmas tree that is full of ornaments it is exciting for everybody to decorate the Christmas tree that also has lights and even music. The Christians gently place the manger Christmas symbolizes the birth of Jesus.
No matter what we celebrate at Christmas it is important that children and many adults get excited, celebrate, get together with loved ones and is a day to deliver and show all the love and affection that we have with the world. It is a good occasion to give gifts and surprises to the beings that we want. It is a day to reflect on our actions and enjoy delivering the best of us, because Christmas is a day full of love and we should not be like the grinch who hates and wants to ruin Christmas.
